Made In Heaven, Mango Coconut Milkshake

Marriage. I am sure everyone has their own version to describe marriage. In fact, when it comes to the web world, even each page has their own unique way to define marriage. And here I am stating my version or I would say my approved version, ‘It is the blending of two lives on every aspect, without giving up on one’s own very existence’. In other words, marriage is a form of union or a companionship, when ‘I’ becomes ‘We’, where both ‘I’ and ‘You’ equally coexists.

No offence to people who have chosen not to be married. I am not even getting into the legal aspect or legal benefits of marriage. But, when I contemplate my nine and half years’ experience of being married, I realise how beautiful the institution is, which allows you to have a mate or partner in true sense, with whom you can and you are supposed to share the entire life, and with whom you commit to build a better tomorrow. Of course, all these only become beautiful and meaningful, when you and your partner are in sync. For the reason is strong enough, hence they say, ‘Choose your partner wisely, as 90% of your happiness depends on your partner’.

And me being me, as I have the tendency to connect everything with food, I find there is a strong similarity between marriage of two individuals and marriage of ingredients. As you have to choose your partner wisely to have a blissful life, likewise it is important to choose the correct ingredients for blending to get an ecstatic dish. Just like true marriage, a dish is only satisfactory when the key ingredients combine well to create a masterpiece, without losing their own existence. And most important thing, just like marriage, the true union of ingredients goes beyond your physical senses and touches your soul. That’s why they probably say, ‘Matches are made in heaven’.

And taking forward the philosophy of true union, on which I have based my today’s recipe post – Mango Coconut Milkshake. Just like true companion, the flavours of mango and coconut blended so well, that one has to admit that these two fruits are forever ‘made for each other’. None of them tends to compete or overpower, yet together they create something which is quite phenomenal.

This Mango Coconut Milkshake is refreshing, tasty and has everything you need to uplift your mood. Don’t wait, and use every opportunity to consume this king of fruits at its best. And this time, along with its true companion😊

Recipe: Mango Coconut Milkshake

Preparation Time: Around 15 minutes Equipment Used: Knife, blender Yield: 4 regular glasses

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium sized ripe mangoes (I have used the ‘Neelam’ variety)
  • 200 ml coconut milk (tetra pack)
  • 2-3 cups water
  • 4 tablespoon sugar
  • Small coconut chunks for garnishing

Method:

  • Wash the mangoes, peel and cut them to small pieces, and put them in a blender jar
  • Add coconut milk to the mango pieces
  • Blend the mix for 2-3 rounds
  • Add water and blend for 2-3 rounds again
  • Taste and add sugar as per your preference. I have added 4 tablespoons sugar
  • Blend again for 4-5 rounds or till the sugar dissolves
  • Garnish the drink with coconut chunks
Ripe mango pieces

Cut the mangoes to small pieces, and put them in a blender jar.

Coconut milk and mango

Add coconut milk.

Blending to make milkshake

Blend for 2-3 rounds.

Adding water to make milkshake

Add water and blend for 2-3 rounds again.

Adding sugar to Mango Coconut Milkshake

Add sugar and blend till the sugar dissolves.

Tips:

  • Squeeze the mango seed till the last drop, or scrape well the flesh from the seed, so that mangoes are not wasted
  • Similarly, so that you do not waste coconut milk, add very little water in the pack (after pouring the coconut milk in the blender), shake and empty the pack in the blender
  • Don’t add sugar in the beginning, as both mango and coconut milk are sweet in taste. Add sugar towards the end, so that you get the perfect Mango Coconut Milkshake for yourself
  • To get the best results, taste after every round of blending
  • It is recommended to consume the drink immediately to enjoy the flavour of mango and coconut milk equally.  With time, the flavour of mango will gradually overpower the drink
  • You can use ice cubes instead of water
  • To experience ‘Taste Bonanza’, enjoy Mango Coconut Milkshake with a scoop of Tender Coconut Ice-cream
